A Girl Can Dream...
These are the fanlistings that I very much hope to maintain one day. They're subjects I'm the most passionate about (not to say that I won't apply for subjects that aren't shown here). But these just happen to pertain to my most beloved fandoms. Of course, I'll be just as happy knowing that the fanlisting has a great current owner. Be sure to click on the images to view why I love that particular subject.

Subject: Gantz (Series)
Why? Gantz is one of the few series that I follow religiously.
I've been following the manga for more than 5 years and my love for it has not faultered since.
The premise of it got me hooked--people who have recently died forced to hunt and kill aliens
in order to be "alive" again. Throw in some fanservice and you've got yourself one hell of
an on-going series. What impresses me the most is the characters--whether you love em' or hate em',
they feel like real humans forced into impossibly miserable and dangerous situations.
Gantz is a series about humanity at its very core. That's why I find the whole set-up
so intriguing. I could talk about this manga forever, I just love it so much. Whether or not
the fanlisting falls into my hands, I'm sure sometime in the future I'll make a shrine
of some sort. (Hide?)

Subject: Olivia Benson Law & Order: SVU)
Why? Olivia is one of my favorite characters in any sort of medium of all time. She's so expertly written that I wrote an entire college essay on why she has influenced me. She is the embodiment of what every woman should be--dedicated, caring, courageous, loyal, tough, and just downright kick-ass. She cares deeply for victims and always gives them the benefit of the doubt, however I feel bad for any criminal that has to go up against her. I love everything about her, even her faults. She's still a very transcending character, even though I view her as being almost perfect. I can safely say that she is a hero of mine. It's because of her that I want to possibly pursue a career in criminal justice. The world needs more people like Olivia Benson.

Subject: Motoko Kusanagi (GITS)
Why? The Major is one of the best female anime character ever created. I don't care if you disagree, that is a fact. She's one tough
woman who just kicks ass. She's very intelligent and keeps her cool in even stressful situations. Though, when she's pissed she's pissed.
She took down a mecha-suit with one hand. One hand. Her character is so intriguing to me. Although she has such a position of dominance,
she still seems down-to-earth in a way. She's still struggling with cyborg body and wonders if she is actually still human inside. That's what I love
about the Major. Outwardly she's the vision of beauty and power, but on the inside she's searching for answers on what she really is. I also love
just how sexy she is--and she knows it! She uses it to her advantage, not because she's promiscuous. Motoko Kusanagi is one of those characters
that just seem on an entirely different level from the ordinary mundane forgettable female characters you see nowadays. I wish more characters were
written like her. (Hide?)

Subject: Trafalgar Law (One Piece)
Why? Hot doctor hot doctor hot doctor. Law is definitely one of the coolest characters to come out of Oda's imagination. He's just an enigma.
He just breathes confidence but keeps it in check under that cool smirk of his. He is quite reckless--jumping into the middle of an epic war all
to save his enemy. It's puzzling, but very admirable. His crew seems quite loyal to Law and rightfully so. He seems to be the embodiment of
a cool and confident man. I would love to make a shrine for him some day. He's definitely my favorite male One Piece character. Also, he's a hot doctor.

Subject: Gintoki Sakata (Gintama)
Why? MY HUSBANDOOOO. Not seriously, but fictionally speaking, yes he is. Gintoki is awesome and definitely my favorite shounen
protagonist ever (sorry Luffy ;.;). Why is he so awesome? Because he's effing Gintoki, that's why. He's so humorous and deadpan, I just enjoy
watching and reading every second about him. He always seems to wear ridiculous expressions (whether actually ridiculous or ridiculously unemotional) in all the
crazy antics he and the rest of the Yorozuya crew get into. Even so, he also has depth to him. His whole attitude towards protecting the ones he holds dear is very admirable. While
this is not original (since most shounen protagonists hold similar views), he just seems very believable and he does hold his promises. If I could I would
chill with him and drink strawberry milk while reading Jump alllll day. (Hide?)

Subject: Liz Lemon (30 Rock)
Why? Oh God, where do I even start? First I should say that I AM LIZ LEMON. I totally am. I am a real life Liz Lemon
and I'm definitely okay with that. Tina Fey did such an awesome job creating this character. She is totally relatable and not even a centimeter
close to being fake. She's just so different from any other female TV show character out there. She's totally hilarious and still very endearing (even if Jack doesn't
think her food obsession is). I should also say that I very much admire her because of her food obsession. I can't think of anyone else that isn't stereotypically fat
that has this sort of obsession. She's intelligent, witty, sarastic, cynical, hilarious, and I love absolutely everything about her. I salute thee, Liz Lemon.

Type: DO WANT
Subject: Nami (One Piece)
Why? She's cunning, bossy, greedy, a bit cowardly, and I love her all the same. Nami is such a well written character. Even with her flaws, she's still
very endearing. Why? Because she cares deeply for her crewmates and while not the most physically strong, he is very intelligent and definitely an irreplaceable
asset to the Strawhats. She's also very pretty and dresses a bit skimpy, but I love her anyway. I take that as she's just very confident in herself. More shounen
female protagonists should be modeled after Nami. She's just so damn cool. (Hide?)

Subject: 28 Days Later (movie)
Why? My favorite move of all time. Which is surprising considering I wasn't big on zombie/horror films before watching it. But it's such
an intelligent film underneath all that infected blood. Leave it to Danny Boyle to raise the bar. One of the reasons I love this movie so much is because after I
first watched it, I was terrified. This sounds silly because I know it's just a movie, but it's so scary because it seems possible. I'm also
a sucker for post-apocolyptic settings and the desperate struggles of humanity. The characters aren't glamorized stars, they feel like actual people
trying to survive in a country ravished by such a terrifying virus. It's entertaining and intelligent and highly recommended. Needless to say, I love this movie to death <3 (Hide?)
Type: DO WANT
Subject: Nico Robin (One Piece)
Why? Just like with Nami, I also think Robin is an excellent female character (which seems very rare these days in shounen). She's very different from Nami, but I love her
all the same. She's cool and collected, mature, and has that mysterious air to her. I love how developed of a character she is, especially as the events of the CP9 saga
unfolded. I love how she helps balance out the personalities of the ever exeburent Strawhats. Although she prefers to stay quiet, she still cares very much
for her crewmates and would do anything to protect them--even sacrificing herself to the World Government. She's a strong beauty and such an awesome character.

Subject: Arrested Development (TV Show)
Why? Holy crap, this is such a good effing show. I love love love it to death. It's one of those few shows that is so good you keep watching it over and over again and never
get tired of it. That's exactly what I do and I keep finding more jokes that perhaps went over my head before. That's how good this show is. Sitcoms should look to this show and try to reach this
standard of comedy. There's so much hilarious wordplay that even Shakespeare would be impressed. Plus the call-backs are so expertly done it's like the show was written backwards. Every detail
just seems to have a purpose. The characters are hilarious, the jokes are hilarious, this show is just downright hilarious. Which is why I quote is almost
every day of my life. I'm just going to keep watching this show forever and ever. VIVA ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT!

Subject: Inner Universe (GITS)
Why? Have you ever heard a song that just made it seem that everything made sense in the world? Well Inner Universe had that effect on me. The
first time I caught the opening to Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex on [AS] I was just mind blown. I was kinda young at the time and had never
heard a song like this before in my life. It's just so gorgeous. The visuals and music just fit together so perfectly. Yoko Kanno is truly a genius for
creating such a wonderful piece of music. I definitely recommend you give it a listen!

Type: DO WANT
Subject: Nana Osaki & Nana Komatsu (NANA)
Why? I love everything about these girls and the relationship that they have built between them. I consider Nanalove to be my OTP. Everything
about their relationship is so endearing. From a fated encounter a friendship that can transcend a life time was born. I love how these girls interact from each other.
They're such different personalities yet there is such a consonance between them. The way they talk about each other mentally is very touching to me. Whether or not
I believe it's true love or just a very strong bond of friendship, I love these girls to death and their relationship with each other.

Subject: Claymore (series)
Why? Girls + Swords + Medival setting = an addicting and kick-ass series called Claymore. One of the most well written on-going shounen series
going on for sure, Claymore is addicting as hell. The battles are exciting and the characters are interesting in their own right. What instantly hooked me was
the premise of the series. This girls or "Claymores" as they're called by the public working for a shady organization to hunt and kill Yoma who feed on humans--all for a
hefty payment. From the beginning I knew there was more to the plot than what sounds like the "monster of the week" set-up, and I was right. I love the direction
this manga is going in and the way events are unfolding. Definitely a great series and highly recommended.

Type: DO WANT
Subject: Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (series)
Why? Without a doubt, this is my favorite anime series of all time since I first saw it aired on tv in 2003 on [AS]. I was instantly obsessed with it.
It was one of the series that got me fully into anime. It's so intelligent, action-packed, well scripted, well acted, well animated, with a beautiful soundtrack to boot. In my
mind this show is perfection. The characters are memorable and it's intrguing to watch it over and over again just to have a better understanding of what's
going on and pick up on stuff that was missed before. I love everything about this anime and I'm still obsessed with it today.
